Action Campus Trekking Shoes

As I had mentioned earlier, I'd bought these shoes recently and was looking forward to having a field test. Well, the test is over and I'm happy to say that they passed with flying colors.

I took some guys to Naneghat recently. The path to Naneghat is pretty rough and uneven but these shoes handled them without any problem. On the actual trek, they worked amazingly well on all surfaces, be it loose soil, gravel, scree or wet rocks.
We even went off the proper path (accidently) and climbed via a diversion which was a rocky climb with water flowing over the rocks. The rocks here had moss growing on them as this section was not a part of the path. This could have complicated things slightly but the shoes handled everything beautifully. They are even water-resistant to a limited extent.

All in all, an excellent buy for just Rs. 750. Just love them. :-)
If you are going to buy trekking shoes, definitely check them out.

I have searched through a lot of blogs and had a tough time to find out where i can buy these trekking shoes, but finally was able to find out from one blog that they are available in Ghatkopar West. And luckily i got them readily available over there.
Right on the station road of Ghatkopar West, there are almost 10-12 shoe shops where u will be able to get these shoes in every shop. Fixed price of 799 for high ankled one's. I bought them from Tip Top shoe company over there, as they were the only ones giving 100 days warranty of pasting and stitching.
U can contact them : 02225160215

Hey guyz.. really sorry bout the massive delay in my response. Can't say anything except that life happened.. :)
Neways, to answer all the questions that have cropped up, I have become an ardent fan of these shoes now. Have been using them on almost all my subsequent treks - (Peth/Kothaligad, Mahuli, Lohagad, to name a few and even in day to day use). They have the best grip for shoes in this price range and are reasonably sturdy.
Now, to answer your questions,
1. No, they are not waterproof. Water-resistant mebbe, but not waterproof. And I always trek in the monsoon, so a big thumbs-up from me for using them in monsoon treks.
2. Search for them at any store that sells Action Sport Shoes. I generally manage to find them fairly easily and thats quite a feat since I wear size 12s. Ask specifically for "Action Campus Trekking Shoes". They come only in 2 colors - Olive Green and Black. So you can identify them easily.
3. Thanks for the tip and location, Venky. :)
I generally stay away from Ankle-Support unless I am very sure about the brand (Shoe-structure wise). A badly made ankle-support shoe will trouble you a lot during your trek and you might risk long term damage to your feet. So its a tough call to decide.

Also, how good is their grip on dry, rocky surfaces?

Thanks!

No buddy.. Action has trekking explicitly mentioned on these shoes.. The ones you mentioned here seem to be running shoes..
