Unrequited love ..

I was browsing the net for some good songs about unrequited love (Yeah, I enjoy those weepy lyrics .. :) )

Seems people have focused mainly on the "classic" ones.

So, I've decided to list some of the relatively recent songs on this evergreen topic. So pull out your tissues, ladies and gentlemen, here I begin:

1. Gotta be somebody -Nickelback

I'll not waste my time with band introductions.

Let me just say that this is one of those rare songs that feel both melancholic and hopeful at the same time.

I guess most people must've heard this one. Those who haven't, should.

Doesn't speak of love per se, but loneliness is a prominent theme ..

Love ..

Whatever I have seen in life doesn't really let me believe in love, just like I don't believe in religion. (Trust me, I'd love to be a believer. Being a skeptic is a highly unrewarding and hollow job.)

All the same I do respect true believers, be it Love or Religion.

Kids, let me give you a piece of advice which, if taken, might spare you a world of pain later.

Never trust anyone blindly.

No matter how much you share, no matter how close you come, never give someone your everything. Cuz the moment you do that, you give him/her the power to destroy you utterly and completely.

And you never know, he/she just might ..

Then, no matter what you say, no matter what you do, things will never be the same again ..

Remember, these are not words written in the throes of emotion. They are the outcome of cool, collected thinking.

If these words seem negative/defeatist to you today, just keep them  in your heart. A day will come when you will remember them.

In this world of thieves and liars, I pity the fool who puts his trust in another man ..

Longing to feel, the wind beneath its wings

After all, Love and Loss, they go hand in hand

P.S. This is not an original. It was heavily inspired from "Love The Way You Lie" by Rihanna and Eminem. Just changed the point of view and some lines.
